Planning guide

Choose a backup sign and decide who can switch to it before an outdoor display is scheduled. Give that person the supplier’s operating instructions, the site contact and the official forecast link for the actual Florida location.

What to put in your brief

Save the forecast for the actual location

Use the National Weather Service forecast for your Florida venue rather than a generic state forecast. Add the forecast link and the event contact to the same note so the team can find both.

Agree on the alternate message

Choose a ground-level sign or an approved indoor message that serves the same purpose. Keep the artwork ready and decide where it goes, who puts it out and what needs property approval.

Give one person the authority to switch

Write down who can change the plan and how they notify the team. The National Weather Service recommends moving indoors when thunder is heard. Follow venue safety procedures and the supplier’s model-specific instructions.
